Windows will normally attempt to detect the time-out on network links to determine their speed (high or low). This functionality can be disabled if Windows is having problems determining the speed of your link.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'SlowLinkDetectEnabled' using the settings below.

Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

SlowLinkDetectEnabled	REG_DWORD	0x00000000 (0)


	HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Settings:

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Name: SlowLinkDetectEnabled
Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)
